Masa Hirose is a guitarist, composer, and producer based in Tokyo, building music through structure, space, and tone.
Over the past decades, he has performed and recorded with artists ranging from jazz legends such as Terumasa Hino and Paul Jackson to pop and orchestral performers including Takeshi Itoh, Naoko Terai, Eric Miyashiro, and Akira Fuse. He has been extensively involved in jazz big band and large ensemble settings, expanding his work from intimate recordings to large-scale productions. His credits include major productions such as Kirby Music Festival, Shrek The Musical, and the globally recognized title Street Fighter 6.
He leads the band BRAINSOUT, whose debut album idea reached No.2 on the Apple Music chart in Japan. As a producer and musical director, he has collaborated with numerous artists including D.E., working across live performance, studio production, and cross-genre projects.
In addition to his performance and production career, he has served as a faculty member at multiple music institutions for over two decades, mentoring the next generation of professional musicians.
In the early 1990s, he lived in Hollywood, California for two years, where he completed formal studies in contemporary music.
Masa Hirose continues to develop projects bridging composition, guitar performance, and production.
